Collection of Information
We collect a small amount of personally identifiable information, like names, postal addresses, email addresses, etc., when voluntarily submitted by our visitors, for example, during the registration process. The information you provide is used to fulfill your specific request(s). This information is only used to fulfill your specific requests, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, for example, to add you to a mailing list.
The purpose of The WildLab is to gather and disseminate information about bird and other wildlife distribution and abundance. Your bird and wildlife observations will be associated with a unique account identifier (your username) so that you can track your observations. Though information related to your bird and wildlife observations may be shared among registered WildLab users (for example, species and numbers), your personal contact information will not be shared.
We encourage users to review the American Birding Association's Principles of Birding Ethics. Observations of sensitive species and their locations may be available to other WildLab users. WildLab users should limit disturbance to birds at nest and roost sites, and other sensitive locations.
